In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 10 losses; Nate Pawn! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 5 losses; Trip Fontaine!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Pawn gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Pawn jumps guard and drags Fontaine to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Fontaine controlling from the top position.
Pawn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fontaine trying to control the position from guard on top but Pawn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fontaine wants to pass the guard but Pawn is keeping the position.
Pawn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fontaine is one step ahead there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pawn can't keep his opponent in guard - Fontaine advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Fontaine is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pawn trying to control from the bottom.
Pawn moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Fontaine postures up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Fontaine trying to control the position from guard on top but Pawn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pawn tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Fontaine slips nicely into half guard.

Fontaine is working for a kimura but Pawn is defending it quite comfortably.
Pawn is looking to control Fontaine's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pawn avoid being mounted?
Pawn is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Fontaine is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Fontaine seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Pawn is trying to control but can't.
Fontaine not doing much here.

Fontaine is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pawn has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pawn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fontaine passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pawn!

Fontaine takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Pawn stops Fontaine from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Fontaine wants to control but instead Pawn manages to regain half guard.
Pawn trying to control here.
Pawn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fontaine on the ground.
Fontaine content to control rather than advance.
Pawn wants to control but Fontaine is keeping busy.

Fontaine uses his free foot to push down on Pawn's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pawn.

Pawn wants to hold on but Fontaine pushes him away.
Pawn is looking to get to half guard.
Fontaine avoids the attempt from Pawn to control.

Fontaine swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Pawn is now in Fontaine's guard. A big mistake from Fontaine there, giving up the dominant position!

Fontaine has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Pawn should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Fontaine has tightened it up now! Pawn should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
