The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

White shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johns is trying to defend but White finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

White is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Johns has managed to free his arm - good work.
White wants to take a breather but Johns is having none of it.
White not doing much here.
White seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johns does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johns tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
