The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Derek lands with a hook. Murphy tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Derek fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Murphy looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Derek delivers a nice body kick.
Murphy tries to clinch up but Derek circles away and keeps his distance.

Murphy on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Derek lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Rodney Derek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Derek forces Murphy back against the cage and clinches.

Murphy wants to counter with a clinch but Derek pushes him away.

Murphy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Derek swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Murphy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Derek can pounce on him.
Murphy shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Derek feints and then cracks Murphy's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Murphy down.

Murphy throws a punch but it's blocked by Derek.

Derek really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Murphy is defended easily by Derek.
Derek throws a powerful right kick. Murphy tried to block low but the kick was high! Murphy was taken right off of his feet! Derek jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
