PBP Commentary

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Julius Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Frost!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper swinging wildly here.

Cooper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Frost, pushing him back against the cage.
Cooper is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Frost gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Cooper tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Frost avoids it.
Frost avoiding damage.
Frost tries to pull guard but Cooper holds him up against the cage and eventually Frost drops back down to his feet.
Cooper changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Frost fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Cooper gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cooper is looking for a takedown.

Cooper wants the takedown. Frost is fighting it off but Cooper persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Frost's guard against the cage.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cooper holds on and takes a little breather.
Frost stands and throws Cooper's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Frost looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Cooper is avoiding damage well.
Frost trying to control the position but Cooper is working away.
Frost lands an elbow.

Frost wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cooper keeps working.
Cooper is looking to reverse the position.
Frost tries to stand but Cooper is controlling his head.
Cooper tries to bench press Frost off him but Frost keeps the position.
Cooper knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Frost on the ground.

Frost is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cooper has escaped the position, nice work there.
Cooper is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Cooper struggling a bit here.
Cooper tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Frost presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frost tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Frost prevents Cooper from getting the reversal.
Frost connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Frost looking to control but Cooper is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Cooper on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cooper tries to get out of the position.
Frost controlling his opponent.

Cooper really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Frost sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Frost looking to secure an arm triangle but Cooper defends it well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Frost dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Frost tries to clinch up but Cooper circles away and keeps his distance.
Cooper closes the distance but Frost moves to the side

and Frost counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cooper won't be happy with that.

Cooper tries to control but Frost manages to take his back.

Cooper just trying to survive but Frost is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
