And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mbuti Bayaka!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bayaka clinches up with Shields and pushes him back against the cage.
A short uppercut from Bayaka.
Shields is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bayaka is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Shields to the mat. Shields regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Bayaka scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Bayaka has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bayaka works over Shields with some ground and pound from guard.
Bayaka distracts Shields with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Shields is rocked!
Bayaka gets to his feet and stands over Shields, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Shields felt that one! Bayaka unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Shields from any more punishment!
