Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Small Richard (ranked 449 p4p, 640 weight class) and Caiden Banks (ranked 35 p4p, 51 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Small Richard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Caiden Banks!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Banks pushes Richard up against the cage in a clinch.
Banks is trying to maintain a safe position but Richard gets an underhook and turns Banks into the cage.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Richard manages to pull guard.
Banks stopping the sweep attempt from Richard.

Richard working for a triangle but Banks defends it easily.

Richard is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Banks defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Richard throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Richard trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Richard is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Richard throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Richard looking for subs off his back but Banks has passed one foot through into half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Richard wants to control but Banks is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Banks prevents Richard from improving his position.
Richard regains full guard. Nicely done.
Richard doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Richard looking for a sweep. Not yet Richard, not yet.
Banks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Richard working for a triangle but Banks defends it easily.
Richard is striking but Banks is not phased and passes to half guard.
Banks sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Richard flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Richard is trying to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Banks moves to clinch but Richard breaks away

and Richard counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Richard seems to be looking for submissions.
Richard uses his free foot to push down on Banks's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Banks.
Richard can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Banks is looking to escape.

Richard is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Banks has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Richard seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Banks is holding on tight.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Small Richard dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Banks tries to clinch but Richard moves away

so Richard counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Richard is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Richard keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Banks's head.
Richard landing with the ground and pound.
Richard cracks Banks with a solid left hand.
Richard postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Richard drops back looking for a leg! Banks is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Banks manages to kick Richard off! Richard jumps back into Banks's guard.
Richard trying to control the position from guard on top but Banks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Richard connects with a couple of short punches.

Banks looking for subs off his back but Richard has passed one foot through into half guard.

Richard is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Banks sees it coming and defends easily.
Banks is trying to get back to full guard.

Richard in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Banks tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Richard!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Small Richard!
A very excited looking Small Richard made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
