Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Small Dayton (ranked 842 p4p, 24281 weight class) and Derrick Ryker (ranked 69 p4p, 466 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Small Dayton !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derrick Ryker!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.

Dayton shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ryker manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ryker is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ryker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dayton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dayton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ryker looking for a sweep. Not yet Ryker, not yet.
Dayton definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Dayton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ryker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dayton has managed to get both his arms back between Ryker's legs - danger averted.

Dayton is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Dayton is working Ryker over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dayton stands and throws Ryker's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Ryker is looking to reverse the position.

Dayton lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Ryker down.
Dayton connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ryker some visible discomfort.
Ryker tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dayton scores with punches from side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ryker is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Ryker gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Dayton lands with a punch from half guard.
Ryker tries to roll over but Dayton keeps him under control.

Ryker on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dayton is working for a kimura but Ryker is defending it quite comfortably.

Dayton lands strikes from half guard.
Ryker trying to control here.
Dayton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ryker looking for submissions off his back.
Dayton winds up and cracks Ryker with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ryker has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Dayton escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Dayton !
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Dayton clinches up with Ryker and pushes him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dayton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dayton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ryker can do to turn this around?

Ryker trying to control the position from guard on top but Dayton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ryker engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Small Dayton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dayton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ryker manages to get himself to full guard.


Ryker working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Dayton has passed into half guard!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ryker is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dayton scores with a couple of nice shots.
Dayton works his way into full mount!
Ryker is desperately trying to improve his position but Dayton has a good base and remains in mount.

Dayton lands with some strikes.
Dayton postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ryker looks a forlorn figure.

Ryker tries to improve his position but Dayton has taken his back! Dayton has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Ryker tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Dayton pushes Ryker away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Small Dayton !
Our winner, Small Dayton , made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
