The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Manu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bass.
Bass fails with a takedown attempt.
Bass shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Manu sprawls well. Manu wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bass gets slowly back to his feet.
Nicky Manu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Bass.
Bass gets caught napping as Manu dives in and scores a takedown. Bass manages to retain guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Manu (2) vs (0) Bass
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Manu drops back looking for a leg! Bass is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bass manages to kick Manu off! Manu jumps back into Bass's guard.
Bass is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Manu rolls with it to try and escape but Bass cranks on the arm and Manu is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
