Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mason Jones (ranked 50 p4p, 118 weight class) and Terry Silver (ranked 7 p4p, 18 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 29 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mason Jones! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 25 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terry Silver! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Silver tests Jones's chin there with a solid looking shot. Silver moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Silver takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jones lands a nice leg kick that just misses Silver's sensitive parts. Jones scores with the left hand. Silver knows he should have avoided that one. Jones misses with a hook. Silver ducked under it nicely. Silver uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.
Silver fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it. Silver gets in close and instigates a clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A head punch blocked on the inside by Jones. Silver working aggressively here.
Jones tries to work over Silver's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Still in the clinch, Silver scores with a nice short uppercut. Silver prevents a body shot from Jones. Silver tries to throw a body punch but Jones avoids it by throwing Silver back against the cage. Silver makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silver lands with a short shot to the head. Jones lands on the inside with an uppercut. Jones misses with an elbow over the top. Jones lands a body shot. Silver tries to work over Jones's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Silver tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Silver tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jones's elbow. Jones lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. I was talking to Jones's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Silver just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jones's brow. Jones makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Silver can't find room to land a body shot as Jones controls the action.
Jones breaks the clinch.
Silver tried to score with a low kick but Jones checks it. Silver misses with a hook
and Jones counters with a straight right hand. Silver has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Silver there as he acknowledges the shot.
Silver is rocked! Silver walks into a jab. Silver is still on wobbly legs! Can Jones finish him? We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones avoids the body shot from Silver.
Jones is looking to counter punch. Silver seems to have recovered his senses. Silver throws a right hand that misses
and Jones counters with a big right hand! Oh Silver is in trouble here! Jones follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mason Jones! Mason Jones retains his welterweight title! Mason Jones took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'Chin. Power.'.
