Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Phillip Mckay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Terwilliger!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Ben Hemmingworth and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mckay lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Terwilliger backs up against the cage.
Terwilliger ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mckay moves away.
Terwilliger looks to land a right hand but Mckay moved out of range.
A slow jab from Mckay misses its intended target.
It seemed like Terwilliger was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Mckay is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Terwilliger's half guard.

Terwilliger is defending against the submission attempts here by Mckay.
Terwilliger is looking for a sweep. Mckay is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mckay is trying to control the action in half guard but Terwilliger is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Mckay wants to pass the guard but Terwilliger is defending well.
Terwilliger felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Terwilliger is looking to escape.

Mckay looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mckay has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Terwilliger wants to get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Mckay thows a leg kick but Terwilliger checks it

Mckay steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Terwilliger.
Bob Terwilliger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Terwilliger throws a jab but it's blocked by Mckay.
Terwilliger connects with a right hand. Mckay shakes it off.
Mckay darts in trying to clinch
and Terwilliger counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Terwilliger misses with a hook. Mckay ducked under it nicely.
Mckay tries to bum rush Terwilliger with a series of wild strikes but Terwilliger uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mckay punishes Terwilliger's body with a nice straight punch.

Mckay darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Terwilliger has a hand on Mckay's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Mckay takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Terwilliger is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Mckay swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Terwilliger is now in Mckay's guard. A big mistake from Mckay there, giving up the dominant position!
Terwilliger wanted to stand there but Mckay had control of the position.

Terwilliger gets to his feet. Mckay looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Mckay tries to bum rush Terwilliger with a series of wild strikes but Terwilliger uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mckay displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Terwilliger throws out the jab.
Mckay fails with the takedown
and Terwilliger counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mckay tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Terwilliger swivels and escapes.
Terwilliger looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Mckay tries to clinch up.
Mckay closes the distance but Terwilliger moves to the side
and Terwilliger counters with a nice uppercut.
Mckay misses with a head kick.
Danga de danga de dang - Terwilliger scores with a four punch combination!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mckay with a lazy takedown attempt
and Terwilliger counters with a lovely straight right hand!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Terwilliger dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Mckay tries to bum rush Terwilliger with a series of wild strikes but Terwilliger uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Terwilliger slaps away a takedown attempt from Mckay, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mckay walks into a stiff left hand from Terwilliger.
Terwilliger misses with a two punch combination.
Mckay throws a right hand that Terwilliger ducks under and follows up with a left that Terwilliger also avoids with ease.
Terwilliger let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
A telegraphed right hand from Terwilliger misses the target.
Terwilliger has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Terwilliger throws a lazy uppercut

and Mckay counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mckay.
Terwilliger wants to stand up but Mckay is controlling him.

Mckay controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Terwilliger keeping moving, preventing Mckay from controlling successfully.
Mckay is looking to work some ground and pound but Terwilliger has wrist control.

Mckay postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Terwilliger is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mckay, into his guard.


Terwilliger avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mckay wants to stand and escape but Terwilliger is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Terwilliger stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Mckay ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Mckay shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mckay was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mckay throws an elbow but Terwilliger slips to the side and avoids it well.

Mckay tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mckay has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mckay swings around for an armbar but Terwilliger sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mckay's guard.

Terwilliger tries to stand but Mckay is controlling from the bottom.
Terwilliger preventing the sweep.
Terwilliger is pushing down on Mckay's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mckay is fighting to maintain full guard but Terwilliger has managed to sneak the leg through.

Mckay won't allow Terwilliger to pass to mount.
Mckay scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Terwilliger manages to mount him!

Terwilliger is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Terwilliger scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Terwilliger might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Mckay changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Terwilliger tries to avoid it but Mckay manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Terwilliger to the ground. Terwilliger escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mckay shoots and misses
and Mckay takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phillip Mckay. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mckay takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Mckay drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Oh Mckay is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Phillip Mckay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Terwilliger keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mckay looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Bob Terwilliger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Mckay's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Mckay seems to have got his legs back now.
Terwilliger throws a shot from downtown. Mckay moves away and avoids it.
Mckay appears to be looking for a big counter.
Terwilliger darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Terwilliger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mckay closes the distance and clinches up with Terwilliger, looking for a takedown. Mckay pushes Terwilliger against the cage but Terwilliger circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Terwilliger throws out a counter right but Mckay avoids it with no problem.

Phillip Mckay is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mckay looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Terwilliger lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Terwilliger scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mckay doesn't seem bothered though.
Mckay misses with a low kick.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Terwilliger! But no joy.
Mckay looks to land a combination. Terwilliger sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Bob Terwilliger seems to be getting the better of the standup.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nice defenses there by Mckay.
Mckay throws a big counter combination but Terwilliger scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Mckay shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Terwilliger as he avoids it easily.
Phillip Mckay has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mckay takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Bob Terwilliger comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Terwilliger winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
