PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zhivko Bsohnakov (ranked 25466 p4p, 4052 weight class) and Enrique Marin (ranked 448 p4p, 357 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zhivko Bsohnakov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Enrique Marin!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Bsohnakov. Those never looked like landing.
Bsohnakov shoots in looking for a takedown but Marin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bsohnakov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Bsohnakov rushes Marin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Bsohnakov has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Marin regains guard immediately.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bsohnakov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Marin is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marin is pulling down on Bsohnakov's head. It's preventing any offense from Bsohnakov, at least for the moment.

Let's hope that Marin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Bsohnakov wants to control from the top but Marin keeps moving.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bsohnakov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Marin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Marin perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Marin is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bsohnakov!

Marin avoids the attempt from Bsohnakov to control.
Marin is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Bsohnakov is in real trouble.

Bsohnakov is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Marin gets his way!

Bsohnakov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Marin is in close to Bsohnakov's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Enrique Marin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

The fight stays on the outside here - Marin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bsohnakov throws a big counter combination but Marin scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Bsohnakov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Marin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Bsohnakov can't keep his opponent in guard - Marin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Bsohnakov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marin on the ground.

Marin is working for a submission of some sort.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Marin is keen to just control but Bsohnakov is a slippery customer.
Marin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Marin looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Marin wants to advance to full mount but Bsohnakov doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Marin passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Marin is keen to just control but Bsohnakov is a slippery customer.

Bsohnakov has his foot on Marin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Marin works his way back into a safe position though.

Enrique Marin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Marin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
