The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benton throws a hook but Zoerner blocks it.
Benton moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Zoerner dives in for a single leg takedown but Benton sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Benton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Benton controls Zoerner momentarily but Zoerner frees himself.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Benton lands a jab-cross combination.

Benton lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Benton.
Benton takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Benton moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Zoerner closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Benton's guard.
Zoerner is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Benton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Zoerner is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Zoerner tries to free his leg and advance position but Benton is retaining full guard.

Let's hope that Zoerner has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Benton scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zoerner tries to land a front kick but Benton steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Zoerner swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Benton scores with a one two! Zoerner had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Benton has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Zoerner shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Benton counters with a nice uppercut.
Benton lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Benton feints a jab promting Zoerner to slip. Benton then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Zoerner slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Zoerner is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Benton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zoerner can do to turn this around?

Benton lands a left and a right that send Zoerner crashing to the mat, dazed. Benton thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Benton grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Zoerner takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Benton cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
