Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Timothy Floyd (ranked 2854 p4p, 5478 weight class) and Alexander Frost (ranked 318 p4p, 490 weight class). Frost has chosen Texas as his entrance music. Alexander Frost has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Timothy Floyd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Frost!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frost shoots in looking for a takedown. Floyd tries to sprawl out of it but Frost keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Floyd manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A little feinted left hand from Floyd on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Floyd really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Frost fails to land with a series of punches.
Floyd blocks a head kick by Frost.
Floyd feinted with a counter takedown.
Floyd scores with a decent looking hook.
Floyd throws a shot to the body.
Frost takes one on the chin but seems OK.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frost is looking to clinch.
Floyd is looking for a counter combo.
Floyd avoids the head kick by Frost.
It looked like Floyd was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Frost.

and Frost counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Floyd tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Floyd wants to control the position but Frost says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Floyd is trying to maintain the position but Frost is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee asks Frost politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Frost prefers to stall for the moment though.
Floyd is looking to regain half guard here but Frost keeps moving and retains side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Frost seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Frost seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Frost tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Floyd.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Frost connects with a nice short shot to Floyd's temple.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Frost sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Frost closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Frost lands in his opponent's guard.

Floyd motions for Frost to come forward. Floyd throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Frost is landing with some decent strikes but Floyd is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Frost is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Floyd has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Floyd!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Frost wanted to stand there but Floyd had control of the position.
Frost is pushing down on Floyd's leg trying to pass to half guard. Floyd is fighting to maintain full guard but Frost has managed to sneak the leg through.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Floyd ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Frost moves away.

and Frost counters with a three punch combo that has Floyd backing up. Floyd nods at Frost to acknowledge the strikes.

Frost uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Floyd.

Frost closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
