Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Frost (ranked 5690 p4p, 4403 weight class) and Tre Davis (ranked 505 p4p, 448 weight class). Frost comes to the cage accompanied by Texas. Alexander Frost has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Frost! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tre Davis! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frost on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Davis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Frost darts in and clinches Davis up against the cage. Frost is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Davis is defending well. Davis tries to throw a body punch but Frost avoids it by throwing Davis back against the cage. Davis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Frost walks away with a smile on his face. Davis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Davis looks to land a combination but Frost avoids it well. Frost circles away from the clinch attempt.
Frost clinches. Frost jumps guard but Davis turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Davis has had enough of the clinch but Frost keeps him there for the moment. Frost turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Frost manages to end up in side control. Frost wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Davis, who protects the arm well. Davis felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Frost tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Davis tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frost trying to control the position but Davis is working away. You can see the frustration on Davis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Davis is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Frost asserts his dominance and retains side control. Frost is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Davis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Davis is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Frost is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Davis struggling a bit here. I wouldn't like to be where Davis is right now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Frost working the ground and pound from side control. Davis is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Frost is controlling him well. Davis seems a little lost for a moment, as Frost dominates the positioning. Davis is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Frost asserts his dominance and retains side control. Frost creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Davis sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Frost is looking to take a break and control but Davis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Davis scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Frost closes the distance and pushes Davis back into the cage. Davis is trying to force a seperation but Frost has the dominant position. Frost stalling.
Davis fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Frost tries a knee to the head but Davis blocks it.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Davis looking to stall.
Frost manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Frost is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Davis trying to stand up but can't free himself from Frost's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis looking to sit in guard and control but Frost gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Frost throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Frost wants to pass the guard but Davis is keeping the position. Frost seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Davis controls Frost momentarily but Frost frees himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Davis pushes Frost off and scrambles back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Alexander Frost dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Davis goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Tre Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Frost avoids a punch combination nicely.
Horrible takedown attempt by Frost or perhaps it was just good defense by Davis, which made it look bad. Frost closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Davis did well to prevent Frost getting side control. Davis makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Davis misses with a jab, cross combination.
Frost scores with a takedown into Davis's guard. Frost is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frost trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Davis wants to stand and escape but Frost is having none of it. Frost keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Davis's head. Frost trying to stand up but can't free himself from Davis's guard. Davis has control of Frost's left arm, preventing Frost from doing any damage.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Frost gets a clinch. Davis has had enough of the clinch but Frost keeps him there for the moment. Frost tries to pull guard but Davis forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Frost breaks from the clinch.
Frost rushes Davis and presses him up against the cage. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Frost. Frost is trying to pull guard but Davis turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Frost. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davis wants to get back to striking at distance but Frost won't allow it.
Davis has had enough of the clinch but Frost keeps him there for the moment. Davis is trying to force a seperation but Frost has the dominant position. Davis tries to break free but Frost pushes him back against the cage. Frost manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Davis gets to his feet. Davis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Frost just stands there and leans against the cage. Frost blocking some punches.
Davis can't break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Davis doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Davis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Davis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Frost as he jumps to the side. Davis is breathing heavily. Davis closes the distance and clinches. Davis misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Davis is trying to break free. Frost jumps guard but Davis turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Frost escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice body punch from Davis.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Frost on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Davis uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Davis lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Tre Davis seems to be getting the better of the standup. Frost throws a leg kick that misses. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Davis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Frost swats him away and circles back towards the center. Frost shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Frost wants to pass to mount but Davis is defending the position. Frost stops Davis from getting back to his feet.
Frost takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tre Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Frost shoots in and bounces Davis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Davis has his feet on Frost's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Frost drives through with a takedown into guard. Davis wants to get back to his feet but Frost passes into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Frost looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Davis is looking for a sweep. Frost is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Davis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Davis wants to control but Frost is keeping busy and won't allow it. Davis looks like he's trying to stand up.
Frost thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Davis's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Davis is looking to escape. Davis is looking to get back to is feet but Frost passes into side control.
Frost wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davis keeps working. Davis is trying to escape the position but Frost is controlling the position. Frost tries to move into full mount but can't pass Davis's legs. Davis is trying to buck Frost off. Frost controls the position. Frost thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis tries to escape but Frost is in control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Davis scores with a body shot.
Frost shoots in but no luck this time. Davis misses with the combination.
Frost tries to close the distance and clinch up but Davis swats him away and circles back towards the center. Davis has Frost up against the cage in a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Davis's face as he tries to break the clinch. Frost gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Davis wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Frost manages to pass to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis tries to kick Frost off but Frost keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Alexander Frost overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Frost in particular looking to stall. Frost stops Davis from getting back to his feet.
Davis wants to control but Frost is keeping busy.
Frost lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Frost tries to pass the half guard into mount. Davis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Frost content to control rather than advance.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alexander Frost. I think Frost has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
