Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Archer (ranked 4604 p4p, 4376 weight class) and Drew Krueger (ranked 502 p4p, 489 weight class). Archer kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Whip Your Head. Drew Krueger has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerome Archer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Drew Krueger! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krueger shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Archer as he jumps to the side. Archer moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Drew Krueger has been cut. Krueger has Archer up against the cage in a clinch.
Archer blocks an uppercut.
With the fighters up against the cage, Archer throws an elbow but misses. Archer is working for takedown but Krueger is calmly controlling the position for now. Archer goes for a takedown in the clinch but Krueger prevents it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krueger is pushing Archer up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Krueger continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Krueger leaning his opponent against the cage. Archer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Archer throws a left that rocks Krueger and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Archer dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Krueger regain composure!
Archer working away. Krueger manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Archer won't allow Krueger to pass to mount. Archer is defending against the submission attempts here by Krueger.
Archer wants to get back to his feet. Archer keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Krueger trying to control the action but Archer is working from the bottom. Krueger throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Archer manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Krueger keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Archer breaks from the clinch.
Archer fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Krueger looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Archer shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerome Archer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Archer is breathing heavily. Archer's corner calls for a 1-2. Archer obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Archer!
Nice defenses there by Krueger. A big left from Krueger misses. Krueger misses with a straight left. We've been told by Archer's head coaches at Canucks Combat Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Archer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Archer. Jerome Archer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Archer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Krueger defends it nicely. Krueger let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Krueger lands with a short head shot on the inside. Krueger misses with a punch to the body.
Archer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Krueger ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Archer moves away. Archer comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Archer throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Krueger jabs at Archer's body. Archer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice body punch from Krueger. Krueger lands with an overhand left. Archer looks to land a left hand but Krueger moved out of range nicely. Krueger shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Archer as he avoids it easily. A counter left hand to the body from Archer misses its target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krueger takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. This has been an exciting period of action! Krueger moves into the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Krueger takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Krueger has Archer pressed against the cage.

Krueger receives a warning from the referee for stalling. Krueger is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Krueger fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Krueger breaks the clinch.
Archer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Krueger pinned against the cage. Krueger gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Krueger takes a swing at Archer's ribcage but misses. Archer half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jerome Archer dominated that round. The cut man is working on Drew Krueger's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Archer fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Krueger looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Archer throws a looping overhand right but Krueger ducks down to avoid it. Krueger doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Krueger lands a nice hook to Archer's body. Archer takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Krueger misses the shot to the body. Some wild striking there from Archer.
Archer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Krueger sees it coming and avoids it easily. Krueger takes one to the chin there. A looping hook to the body misses from Krueger. Archer does a little dance to reset his feet. Krueger will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Archer works the jab nicely. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Archer misses with a wild body shot. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Krueger connects with a nice looking jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krueger takes the fight into the clinch. Archer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Krueger lands with an overhand left. Archer steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Krueger. Archer fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Krueger on the side of the head. Archer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Krueger throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Archer's waist but Archer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Krueger off to one side. Krueger defending well as Archer loads up on a big left hand. Krueger scores with a jab to the body. Krueger tries to close the distance and clinch but Archer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Archer displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Krueger. Krueger has Archer up against the cage in a clinch.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Archer here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krueger lands an uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Archer lands a hook that snaps the head of Krueger backwards. Archer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Krueger lands a left and a right that send Archer crashing to the mat, dazed. Krueger thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Jerome Archer has been cut. Krueger displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Archer. Krueger lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Archer can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Krueger and Archer drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Krueger.
