Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Rodriguez (ranked 1965 p4p, 3168 weight class) and John Knox (ranked 230 p4p, 365 weight class). Knox has chosen "Hey Man Nice Shot" Filter as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Knox!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez misses with a wild body shot.
Rodriguez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Knox uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rodriguez.
Knox paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
It looks like Jorge Rodriguez has been cut.
Knox ducks under a wild hook from Rodriguez.
Rodriguez throws an overhand right that lands on Knox's shoulder, as Knox tries to avoid the shot.
Rodriguez dives in for a single leg takedown but Knox sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Rodriguez trying to control the position but instead, Knox has worked for underhooks and has pushed Rodriguez into the ropes.
Rodriguez prevents a body shot from Knox.
Rodriguez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Knox avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodriguez is working for takedown but Knox is calmly controlling the position for now.

Knox with the counter takedown but Rodriguez avoids it easily.

Knox unleashes a big counter combination but Rodriguez bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Rodriguez misses with a wild combination.
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Knox sprawls well. Knox wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rodriguez gets slowly back to his feet.
Rodriguez is breathing heavily.

Knox throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Knox uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rodriguez.
And Knox tries to counter it with a takedown but Rodriguez pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Rodriguez throws a body punch but Knox moves out of range.
Rodriguez misses with a left hand
and Knox counters with a straight right hand.
Knox misses with a takedown attempt - Rodriguez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Knox lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rodriguez circles away quickly and effectively.
Rodriguez has his takedown stuffed
letting Knox counter with a right hand.
Jorge Rodriguez's cut is getting worse.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rodriguez swats away the attempt to clinch by Knox.
Rodriguez changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Rodriguez misses with a hook
and Knox counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Jorge Rodriguez's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Knox avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Knox throws out a counter right but Rodriguez avoids it with no problem.
Rodriguez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Rodriguez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Knox counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Rodriguez takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Knox lands a jab to Rodriguez's midsection.
Rodriguez takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Knox throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Knox batters Rodriguez with a massive right followed by a huge left! Rodriguez is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Knox lands a final crushing right hand to drop Rodriguez to the mat with a gruesome thud! Knox is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). John Knox!
