Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Jacobs (ranked 25437 p4p, 5835 weight class) and Jovan Hopkins (ranked 433 p4p, 429 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Billy Jacobs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jovan Hopkins! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopkins clinches with his opponent.
Jacobs tries to break the clinch but Hopkins is controlling the position. Jacobs working hard to break the clinch. Jacobs definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Hopkins stalling in the clinch.
Hopkins tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jacobs just stands there and leans against the cage. Jacobs avoids the elbow strike from Hopkins, against the cage.
Jacobs lands a left hand.
Hopkins tries to throw a body punch but Jacobs avoids it by throwing Hopkins back against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Jacobs stalling.
Hopkins works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jacobs trying to keep a closed guard but Hopkins is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hopkins controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. It looks like Hopkins might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hopkins is continuing to stall. Jacobs trying to keep a closed guard but Hopkins is proving a slippery customer.
Hopkins should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Hopkins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Jacobs wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hopkins stands and steps away. Jacobs gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Hopkins throws a hook to the side of Jacobs's head but Jacobs sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. An attempted straight right counter from Jacobs misses the target. Hopkins tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hopkins drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Jacobs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jacobs controls Hopkins momentarily but Hopkins frees himself. Jacobs can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hopkins controls the pace. Jacobs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hopkins on the ground. Hopkins decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jacobs looks to score with a jab to the body but Hopkins is just out of range. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Hopkins has eaten all the pies! Jacobs connects with a looping right hand.
Hopkins defending well as Jacobs loads up on a big left hand. Jacobs scores with a jab to the body. Jacobs takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Jacobs ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Jacobs misses with a lunging right hand
and Hopkins counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jacobs looking to control.
Jacobs tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jacobs wants to stand but Hopkins is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hopkins throwing strikes but missing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jacobs keeping full guard, as Hopkins tries to pass. Jacobs looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hopkins puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hopkins is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jacobs doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hopkins. Hopkins slows the pace down in half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jovan Hopkins dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Jacobs misses with a body shot
and Hopkins counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Hopkins is looking to clinch. Jovan Hopkins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jacobs throws a nice looking combination but Hopkins bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jacobs looks to land a left hand but Hopkins moved out of range nicely. Jacobs sets himself, and Hopkins steps forward looking for the clinch! Jacobs avoids it this time. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hopkins is defended easily by Jacobs. Hopkins takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jacobs lands a lovely overhand right. Jacobs lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hopkins takes one to the side of the head.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Jacobs!
Hopkins is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hopkins closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jacobs did well to prevent Hopkins getting side control. Jacobs tries to kick Hopkins off in order to stand up. Hopkins Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobs can't do much from the bottom here. Jacobs is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hopkins is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Hopkins creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Hopkins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jacobs has escaped the position, nice work there. Jacobs is trying to control Hopkins's posture but Hopkins avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hopkins connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jacobs some visible discomfort.
Jacobs struggling a bit here. Jacobs gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Hopkins lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Hopkins is standing up, even though he is in mount. Jacobs connects with a jab. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jacobs throws a jab when Hopkins was well out of range. Hopkins flicks out a counter leg kick but Jacobs steps away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jacobs scores with a jab. Hopkins acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Hopkins moves away from the strike by Jacobs. Jacobs keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Nice uppercut there from Jacobs. Jacobs connects with a right hand. Hopkins shakes it off. Hopkins takes one to the side of the head.
Hopkins is still on wobbly legs! Can Jacobs finish him?
It looks like Jovan Hopkins has been cut. Jacobs cracks Hopkins with an open hand slap. Jacobs throws a body shot but no joy. Hopkins dives in and grabs Jacobs's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jacobs pushes down on Hopkins's head and hops out. Jacobs was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Billy Jacobs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jovan Hopkins. Hopkins looks to clinch and Jacobs counters with a big right hand! Oh Hopkins is in trouble here! Jacobs follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Billy Jacobs! Billy Jacobs decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
