The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Cruz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Goble to score an easy takedown into full guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Goble (2) vs (0) Cruz
Goble drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cruz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Goble has Cruz in his guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Goble (2) vs (2) Cruz
Cruz advances position into side control! Score +3 for passing guard: Goble (2) vs (5) Cruz
Goble tries to buck Cruz off but Cruz is having none of it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
