This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 29 wins and 13 losses; Rumsfeld Shart! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 8 losses; Uncle Abner! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Abner closes the distance and pushes Shart back into the ropes. Abner pulls guard. Abner tries to land a sweep but no joy. Shart slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Shart trying to control the position from guard on top but Abner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Abner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Shart trying to control but Abner is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shart content to stall in guard here. Abner controls Shart momentarily but Shart frees himself. Abner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shart gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Shart showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shart trying to control but Abner is working from the bottom. Shart postures up.
Shart passes Abner's left leg - he's now in half guard. Abner is in trouble now - Shart has advanced to mount! Score +3 for passing guard: Shart (3) vs (0) Abner Shart trying to control but he's not successful this time. Abner working to try and regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shart tries to control but Abner wriggling away. Shart tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Shart prevents Abner from getting the reversal. Abner defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Shart. Abner tries to improve his position but Shart has taken his back! Shart has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Abner tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Shart pushes Abner away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
