Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Lee Murray (ranked 5809 p4p, 2948 weight class) and Julius Benedict (ranked 535 p4p, 334 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Lee Murray! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Julius Benedict! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benedict throws a body punch but Murray moves out of range. Benedict loads up on a big right hand but Murray slips the punch. Benedict throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Murray counter with a right hand. Benedict changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Murray checks a leg kick. Benedict takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
A nice leg kick lands there from Murray. Benedict misses with a left hand and Murray makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Murray seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Murray throws an overhand right that lands on Benedict's shoulder, as Benedict tries to avoid the shot. Benedict let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Murray displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Benedict throws out the jab. Benedict misses with a leg kick enabling Murray to counter with a crisp jab. Benedict throws a jab when Murray was well out of range. Benedict misses with a hook. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Murray is looking to clinch. Murray lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Murray cracks Benedict with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Benedict get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Benedict looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!
Benedict is rocked! Benedict is looking to slow Murray down with leg kicks. Benedict is still on wobbly legs! Can Murray finish him? Benedict thuds his shin into the meat of Murray's side. Murray moves out of range of the strikes. Nice cross by Murray. Benedict is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murray uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Benedict.

The crowd cheers as Murray lands an impressive looking overhand right. Benedict doesn't seem phased though. Murray doesn't manage to clinch there - Benedict circles away.
Murray tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Benedict throws out a counter right but Murray avoids it with no problem. Benedict throws a front kick aimed at Murray's knee but Murray avoids it well. A punch lands to the side of Benedict 's head but he takes it in his stride. A shot to the liver by Murray. Beautiful body shot. Murray checks a leg kick. Murray lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Murray throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Murray scores with a decent looking hook. Benedict tries a low kick but Murray avoids it. Murray throws a head kick that misses. Benedict misses the jab. Benedict takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
This has been an exciting period of action! Murray feints and then cracks Benedict's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Benedict down. Murray checks a leg kick nicely. Benedict misses with a kick to the body.
Benedict seems to have recovered his senses. Murray is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Benedict takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Murray uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Benedict has time to react. We've been informed that Benedict has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Murray misses with a looping left. Murray misses with a wild body shot. That kick from Murray tenderised Benedict's leg. Benedict is trying to keep his angry face on. Benedict swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Murray. Julius Benedict seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Murray forces Benedict back against the ropes and clinches. Benedict tries to throw a body punch but Murray avoids it by throwing Benedict back against the ropes. Murray misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Benedict.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Murray is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Benedict is defending well for now. Murray landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Benedict throws a knee to the head but misses.
Benedict lands a body shot. Benedict blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Lee Murray should take that round, based on the knockdown. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Benedict misses with a head kick.
Benedict feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Murrays jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Murray throws a head kick that misses. A head kick misses from Benedict. Benedict throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Murray counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Murray connects with a body shot that sends Benedict's belly button to the back. Murray ducks under a wild hook from Benedict. Murray throws a counter high kick but Benedict was just alert enough to avoid it. Benedict misses with a body punch
and Murray counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Benedict throws a jab when Murray was well out of range. Murray is looking to counter with head kicks. Donk. Benedict catches Murray right on the button with a cross. Good leg kick by Murray. Murray blocks a head kick by Benedict.
Benedict tried to score with a low kick but Murray checks it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Benedict misses with a right hand and Murray counters with a right, a left and a big uppercut that drops Benedict to the mat! Murray runs to a neutral corner to get the count going quickly. 3,4,5,6 and Benedict is back to his feet. He seems ready to continue - the ref agrees so we're back at it! Benedict walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Benedict is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
