Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Gallagher (ranked 3202 p4p, 4687 weight class) and Geronimo Grant (ranked 306 p4p, 388 weight class). Gallagher comes to the cage accompanied by HIGH. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Geronimo Grant!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Grant closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gallagher quickly recovers to half guard.
Gallagher slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grant gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Grant is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gallagher's half guard.
Grant is keen to just control but Gallagher is a slippery customer.
Grant might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gallagher haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Grant looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gallagher is doing well to control the position and prevent Grant from advancing to side control.
Grant prevents Gallagher from improving his position.
Grant wants to free his trapped foot but Gallagher is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gallagher tries to roll over but Grant keeps him under control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Grant trying to pass the guard but Gallagher defending well.
Gallagher makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gallagher.
Gallagher is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Grant postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gallagher moves into range and connects with a jab.
Grant tries to clinch up
enabling Gallagher to counter with a crisp jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Gallagher gets caught napping as Grant dives in and scores a takedown. Gallagher manages to retain guard.
Grant throws a big right hand that misses.
Gallagher controls Grant momentarily but Grant frees himself.
Grant in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Gallagher looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Gallagher is trying to keep Grant in close.
Grant working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Grant trying to control the position from guard on top but Gallagher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Grant decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Gallagher misses with a straight left.
Grant tries to counter with a clinch but Gallagher shakes him off and moves away.
Grant shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Gallagher counter with a right hand.
Grant thows a left - swing and a miss!
Gallagher moves out of range as Grant throws a body kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nice straight punches there by Gallagher. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gallagher.
Gallagher is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Grant misses with a straight right.
Gallagher looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Geronimo Grant will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Grant throws a body kick that misses
letting Gallagher counter with a right hand.
Grant tries to land a front kick but Gallagher steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
As Grant looks to move away, Gallagher throws a big counter combo but Grant just gets out of the way.
Grant misses with a takedown
and Gallagher connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gallagher steps in with a hook that catches Grant right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Gallagher follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Grant looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Desmond Gallagher!
