Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Moe Hawk (ranked 4090 p4p, 3115 weight class) and Eli Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Moe Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eli Vaughn!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaughn looks for a takedown but Hawk sprawls well.
Vaughn dives in for a single leg takedown but Hawk sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vaughn.
Moe Hawk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eli Vaughn.
Hawk slaps away a takedown attempt from Vaughn, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Vaughn drives through with a takedown into Hawk's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Hawk wants to get back to his feet but Vaughn is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Vaughn makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hawk really is a fat lump.
Hawk throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vaughn wants to control from the top but Hawk keeps moving.
Hawk looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vaughn is one step ahead there.

Vaughn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Vaughn looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Vaughn's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Vaughn wants to control from the top but Hawk keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Vaughn goes for a double leg but Hawk avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hawk continues to drive forward.
Vaughn fails to land the takedown.
Hawk leaves Vaughn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hawk forces Vaughn back against the cage and clinches.
Hawk tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Vaughn avoids it.

Hawk wants the takedown. Vaughn is fighting it off but Hawk persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Vaughn's guard against the cage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hawk wants to control from the top but Vaughn keeps moving.
Vaughn keeping full guard, as Hawk tries to pass.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vaughn can do anything to dispel that myth.
Vaughn tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Vaughn has Hawk pulled in close to control his posture.
Let's hope that Vaughn has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Vaughn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hawk sprawls well. Hawk wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vaughn gets slowly back to his feet.
Eli Vaughn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vaughn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hawk pinned against the cage. Hawk gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vaughn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Vaughn shoots in but Hawk avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vaughn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hawk tries to avoid it but Vaughn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hawk to the ground. Hawk escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vaughn tries for a takedown but Hawk sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hawk.
Vaughn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hawk pinned against the cage. Hawk gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Vaughn gets caught flat footed, as Hawk shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Vaughn keeping moving, preventing Hawk from controlling successfully.
Hawk is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Vaughn is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hawk throws a strike but Vaughn rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Moe Hawk dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hawk moves into the clinch.
Vaughn goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hawk prevents it.
Vaughn wants to take the fight to the mat but Hawk manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Hawk has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Vaughn regains guard immediately.
Hawk advances to half guard.
Vaughn wants to improve his position but Hawk is controlling well.
Hawk is taking a breather. Vaughn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vaughn wants to control but Hawk is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Vaughn tries to roll over but Hawk keeps him under control.
Moe Hawk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Vaughn is refusing to be controlled, as Hawk sits in half guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Vaughn shoots in looking for a takedown. Hawk tries to sprawl out of it but Vaughn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hawk manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
It looked like Hawk was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Moe Hawk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eli Vaughn.

Vaughn is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hawk's half guard.
Vaughn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hawk keeps working.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Vaughn passes to full mount!
Vaughn looking to finish Hawk with some ground and pound. This is bad for Hawk!
BOOM! Vaughn connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Vaughn trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Vaughn lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Vaughn controlling the position easily from mount.
Hawk takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hawk is bucking up trying to escape but Vaughn cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Eli Vaughn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Vaughn takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hawk fails with a takedown attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hawk is defended easily by Vaughn.

Vaughn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hawk's guard.
Vaughn lands a couple of digs.
Vaughn landing with the ground and pound.

Vaughn connects with a couple of short punches.
Vaughn distracts Hawk with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Vaughn slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Vaughn lands some shots froms side control.
Hawk might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Vaughn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hawk is holding Vaughn down, trying to stall.

Vaughn cracks Hawk with a big elbow.
Vaughn cracks Hawk with a big right hand but Hawk just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Hawk takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Hawk regains half guard there - taking advantage of Vaughn's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Vaughn slips a nice elbow through Hawk's hands, connecting with Hawk's forehead.
Vaughn is nestled in close to Hawk, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Vaughn wants to free his trapped foot but Hawk is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Vaughn lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Vaughn lands with a punch from half guard.
Vaughn seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Vaughn's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vaughn looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hawk with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Vaughn content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Vaughn works his foot free and advances to mount.
Vaughn content just to control the position here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Eli Vaughn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Vaughn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
