Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kieth Stokes (ranked 3455 p4p, 3366 weight class) and Gary Andary (ranked 163 p4p, 159 weight class). Gary Andary has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kieth Stokes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gary Andary!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stokes shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Andary napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Andary wants to control but Stokes postures up.
Andary tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stokes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Stokes trying to control the action but Andary is working from the bottom.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Andary is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Andary is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Andary manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stokes manages to get himself to full guard.

Andary stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stokes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stokes wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Andary is now in half guard.

Stokes is pulling down on Andary's head. It's preventing any offense from Andary, at least for the moment.
Andary sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stokes's guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Stokes's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stokes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stokes wants to free his trapped foot but Andary is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Well, if Stokes is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Andary wants to control but Stokes is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Stokes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Andary manages to avoid it.

Stokes waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Andary.
Stokes throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

and Andary counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Stokes lands an overhand right.
Stokes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stokes thows a left - swing and a miss!
Andary misses with a few strikes there.
Stokes connects with a body shot that sends Andary's belly button to the back.
Nice takedown defense from Andary. No joy for Stokes on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kieth Stokes. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Andary swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Stokes lands with a straight right. Andary didn't see that one coming.
Andary connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Andary closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Stokes misses with an uppercut.
Stokes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Andary throws out the jab.
Stokes tries for a takedown but Andary circles away easily
and Andary counters with a three punch combo that has Stokes backing up. Stokes nods at Andary to acknowledge the strikes.
Gary Andary has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kieth Stokes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kieth Stokes.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stokes, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
