Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Braden Meyers (ranked 4118 p4p, 2677 weight class) and Burg Gers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burg Gers is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Braden Meyers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Burg Gers! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meyers keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Gers fails to land the takedown. Meyers has Gers up against the cage in a clinch.
The referee calls for Meyers to work.
Meyers has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gers uses from the top position. Gers connects with a couple of short punches. Meyers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gers makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Meyers wants to get back to his feet but Gers is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Gers postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Gers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Meyers working a defensive guard here.
Gers stands up over Meyers, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gers missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gers cracks Meyers with a solid left hand. Gers keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Meyers's head. Gers working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Meyers is rocked! Meyers is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Oh Meyers is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gers is working Meyers over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Meyers looking for a sweep. Not yet Meyers, not yet. Meyers seems to have got his legs back now. Gers pushes down on Meyers's leg and manages to get into half guard. Ground and pound from Gers. Gers working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Gers is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Gers lands with a punch from half guard. Gers lands with a punch from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Meyers actively working from the bottom here. Gers is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Meyers is hurt! He's hurt bad - Gers fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Meyers from any more punishment! Congratulations to Gers! Great finish!
