Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bentley Rocha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Lopes! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lopes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Rocha drives through with a takedown into Lopes's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Rocha is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Lopes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Lopes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rocha controls the pace. Rocha has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Our spies down at at The Jungle Room inform us that Lopes has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Rocha throws a big elbow that misses. Rocha has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rocha is in close to Lopes's body, working some short punches and elbows. Rocha throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rocha controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Rocha pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lopes tumbling to the mat - Rocha dives into Lopes's guard. Rocha is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Rocha throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rocha takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Rocha there. Rocha not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rocha missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Rocha is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lopes taking some punishment here, with Rocha in his half guard. Bentley Rocha is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Rocha content to control rather than advance. This is a sustained period of stalling by Rocha.

Rocha sitting and controlling from the half guard. Rocha's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Diego Lopes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rocha seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lopes for as long as he can get away with. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rocha is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Bentley Rocha showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rocha, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
