Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Krzysztof Zakrzewski (ranked 24391 p4p, 23914 weight class) and Yawa Kiang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krzysztof Zakrzewski could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Yawa Kiang's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Krzysztof Zakrzewski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 33 - 58 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zakrzewski tries to clinch but fails miserably and Kiang makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Zakrzewski really felt that one! Some bone on bone action there as Kiang checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Kiang counters with a body kick. Zakrzewski tries to close the distance and clinch but Kiang swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kiang displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Zakrzewski. Kiang is trying to counter with his kicks. Zakrzewski gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zakrzewski works on Kiang's body with a couple of short punches. Zakrzewski wants to stall.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Krzysztof Zakrzewski. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zakrzewski is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kiang is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Zakrzewski to the mat. Zakrzewski regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Kiang really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zakrzewski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Zakrzewski is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kiang is aware though and is defending well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Zakrzewski scores with a nice body kick.
Zakrzewski goes for a double leg but Kiang avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kiang continues to drive forward. Zakrzewski wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kiang turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kiang manages to end up in side control. Zakrzewski is trying to control Kiang's posture but Kiang avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zakrzewski is looking to regain half guard here but Kiang keeps moving and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zakrzewski is breathing heavily. Zakrzewski is not content to let Kiang control the position. Zakrzewski tries to buck Kiang off but Kiang is having none of it. Kiang wants to control but Zakrzewski is keeping him busy. Zakrzewski is looking for a sweep. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kiang scores with punches from side control. Kiang is staying tight to Zakrzewski's torso, preventing him from escaping. You can see the frustration on Zakrzewski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Zakrzewski tries to escape but Kiang is in control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kiang stuffs the takedown. Zakrzewski misses with a takedown attempt - Kiang sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kiang throws a big counter head kick but Zakrzewski avoids it with no problem. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Yawa Kiang dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Zakrzewski is looking to land body kicks. Kiang only half commits to the counter leg kick. Kiang fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zakrzewski sprawls well initially but Kiang persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Zakrzewski wants to stand back up but Kiang manages to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zakrzewski is not content to let Kiang control the position. Kiang scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Zakrzewski to see if he's OK. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zakrzewski is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kiang's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Kiang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zakrzewski keeps working.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Zakrzewski will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kiang steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Zakrzewski shoots in looking for a takedown. Kiang tries to sprawl out of it but Zakrzewski keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kiang manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kiang keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kiang is trying to counter with his kicks.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Zakrzewski sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Zakrzewski is trying to stand up here but Kiang is controlling him well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Zakrzewski closes the distance and clinches up with Kiang, looking for a takedown. Zakrzewski pushes Kiang against the cage but Kiang circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Zakrzewski backing away here, and Kiang unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Zakrzewski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kiang swats him away and circles back towards the center. And Kiang responds with a good body kick, but Zakrzewski manages to step out the way in time. Zakrzewski steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kiang. That one must have hurt. Zakrzewski tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Kiang counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Yawa Kiang is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Kiang is controlling the pace.

And that's the end of the fight! Yawa Kiang comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Kiang winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
