PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pan Thongrak (ranked 3806 p4p, 4047 weight class) and Tallulah Begaye (ranked 426 p4p, 438 weight class). Thongrak comes into the arena with Muay Thai Traditional blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pan Thongrak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tallulah Begaye!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thongrak shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Begaye eats them both and turns towards Thongrak to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Thongrak tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Begaye was well out of range. Poor timing from Thongrak.
Thongrak lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Begaye circles away quickly and effectively.
Begaye tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Begaye gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Thongrak counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Tallulah Begaye has been cut.

Begaye shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Thongrak's guard.

Thongrak pulls Begaye in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thongrak has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Begaye has passed into side control.

Begaye postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Thongrak might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Thongrak is looking to get back to full guard here but Begaye has managed to pass to side control instead.

We've been informed that Begaye has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Thongrak looks to move to half guard but instead Begaye has passed into mount! Damn!
Thongrak wants to control but Begaye is having none of it.
Begaye is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Thongrak can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Begaye has control of Thongrak's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Thongrak regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Begaye loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Thongrak scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Begaye land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Begaye stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tallulah Begaye!
