Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Breno Belmiro (ranked 1376 p4p, 1863 weight class) and Vino Kourov (ranked 117 p4p, 148 weight class). Kourov is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: COME ON. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vino Kourov!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Sergei Dronov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kourov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Belmiro.

The fight stays on the outside here - Kourov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Kourov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Belmiro is looking to pass into half guard but Kourov pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kourov is in guard.

Belmiro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kourov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Belmiro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kourov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A close round but Vino Kourov will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Belmiro drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kourov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Belmiro has Kourov in his guard.

Kourov is sitting in close to Belmiro's body. Belmiro has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Kourov is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Kourov is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Belmiro.
