Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Do Dim Mak (ranked 3719 p4p, 4889 weight class) and Leroy Woods (ranked 248 p4p, 313 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Do Dim Mak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leroy Woods!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Hugh Johnson and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods scores with a jab to the body.
A jab lands there for Woods.
Dim Mak throws a jab when Woods was well out of range.

Dim Mak takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Dim Mak chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Dim Mak lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Woods swings widly with a right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Woods ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Dim Mak takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Dim Mak finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Dim Mak throws a right and a left that both miss.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Dim Mak connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Woods counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dim Mak thinking.
Dim Mak looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Dim Mak looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Woods throws a series of punches but Dim Mak moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Dim Mak counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Woods lands with an uppercut that bounces Dim Mak off the cage and back into range.
Woods tests Dim Mak's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Woods lands with a cross.
Woods checks a leg kick nicely.
Woods let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Woods ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Woods looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
The fighters circling - Woods throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Dim Mak ducks right into an uppercut from Woods.

Dim Mak gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Dim Mak feints and then cracks Woods's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Woods down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dim Mak bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Woods fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dim Mak manages to avoid it.
Dim Mak uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Woods.
Woods is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dim Mak.
Woods throws a lazy right hand but Dim Mak sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dim Mak looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Woods thuds his right hand into Dim Mak's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Woods rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dim Mak counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Woods smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Woods misses with an uppercut
and Woods takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Leroy Woods seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Woods misses.
Dim Mak is looking to counter with head kicks.
Woods throws a hook to the side of Dim Mak's head but Dim Mak sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
And Dim Mak counters with a quick kick to the body but Woods blocks it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A quick step to the side and Dim Mak tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Woods misses with a hook. Dim Mak ducked under it nicely.
Woods bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dim Mak's head.
Dim Mak moves out of range as Woods strikes.

and Dim Mak counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Woods thinking.

and Dim Mak counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Woods scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Woods on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A clash of legs there as Woods blocks the low kick.
Woods swings for the body but Dim Mak moves out of range.
Woods throws a jab when Dim Mak was well out of range.

and Dim Mak counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looked like Dim Mak was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

and Dim Mak counters with a slapping leg kick.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
A left hand lands to the body for Dim Mak.

Dim Mak keeps control of Woods as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Woods wants to break the clinch but can't.
Woods wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dim Mak has him pressed against the cage.
Dim Mak has Woods pressed against the cage, preventing Woods from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Dim Mak digs a right hand underneath Woods's ribcage. Woods let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Dim Mak pulls guard successfully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dim Mak has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Woods should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Dim Mak has tightened it up now! Woods should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
