Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Declan McCoy (ranked 2082 p4p, 2487 weight class) and Bacardi Briggs (ranked 233 p4p, 277 weight class). Briggs is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Stopper by Cutty Ranks. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Briggs moves into range and clinches up with McCoy.
Briggs tries to circle away but McCoy has him pinned against the cage.
McCoy doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
McCoy throws a punch but it's blocked by Briggs.
A head punch on the inside from McCoy fails to land.
McCoy gets through Briggs's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Briggs looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Briggs lands on the inside with an uppercut.
McCoy lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
McCoy tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
McCoy has Briggs pressed against the cage, preventing Briggs from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Briggs wants to get back to striking at distance but McCoy won't allow it.

McCoy manages to break the clinch.
Briggs misses with a shot to the body
and McCoy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Briggs throws a right hand that misses
and Briggs takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

McCoy drops Briggs with a beautiful combination! Briggs stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - McCoy is looking for the KO!

It looks like Bacardi Briggs has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McCoy takes one on the button.
McCoy cracks Briggs with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Briggs throws a combination that misses
enabling McCoy to counter with a crisp jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.

and McCoy counters with a nice right hand that sends Briggs toppling to the canvas! Briggs scrambles and gets back to his feet - can McCoy finish him?!

and McCoy counters with a huge left! Briggs is in big trouble! He's backing up but McCoy isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Briggs from any more damage. A dominating finish by McCoy!
