And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 20 wins and 27 losses; Nuri Jafar!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Franklyn Lucas.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Jafar tries to clinch up but Gordon circles away and keeps his distance.
Jafar slaps away a takedown attempt from Gordon, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jafar doesn't manage to clinch there - Gordon circles away.

Gordon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Gordon is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Jafar's shoulder. That is not cool.
Gordon definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gordon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Gordon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Gordon.

Jafar can't do much from the bottom here.
Jafar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gordon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gordon takes a little break here. Jafar wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Gordon continues to hold on tight.

Jafar manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Gordon looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gordon avoids the attempt from Jafar to control.

Gordon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jafar tries to reverse the position but Gordon maintains control.
Jafar wants to control but Gordon is having none of it.

Gordon wants to take Jafar's back here but Jafar is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Gordon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Gordon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jafar for as long as he can get away with.

Gordon takes Jafar's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Jafar is in trouble.

Gordon slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Jafar turns into Gordon and is now in his guard.

My spies in Rabid Dog inform me that Jafar has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Gordon pulls Jafar in close to his closed guard and prevents Jafar from doing any damage or advancing position.
Jafar won't allow Gordon to sweep him here.
Jafar wants to control from the top but Gordon keeps moving.

Gordon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jafar's guard.

Gordon stands and throws Jafar's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Gordon is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Jafar gets back to half guard.
Gordon controlling the pace.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round.
Gordon trying to mount his opponent but Jafar defends it.
Jafar wants to control but Gordon is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jafar looks winded!
Gordon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gordon moves nicely into side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gordon takes the fight on points by 18 to 2.
A relieved looking Ryan Gordon thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
In defeat, Nuri Jafar stepped up to the mic, saying 'He did not follow the script'.
