Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slade Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kal El (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kal El told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Slade Wilson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kal El! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with El, pushing him back against the cage. Wilson is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Wilson gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wilson prevents El from improving his position. Wilson trying to control the action but El is working from the bottom. El is trying to stand back up but Wilson is controlling him
Wilson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but El sees it coming and defends easily. Wilson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so El is just riding it out for now. Wilson eventually gives up the hold. El avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wilson. El wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but El does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wilson gets a takedown into half guard. El is trying to maintain the position but Wilson is very close to passing his half guard. Wilson is looking for a kimura here.
El really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wilson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wilson wants to control but El is keeping him busy. El has his hands clasped together around Wilson's back. He's all about the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wilson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

El wants to control but Wilson is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. El is looking to escape. Wilson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
El is defending against the submission attempts here by Wilson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. El wants to get back to his feet. El trying to control but Wilson postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. El is in trouble now - Wilson has advanced to mount! Wilson has hold of El's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and El manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Wilson trying to control but El is having none of it. Wilson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but El is surviving well by controlling Wilson's body position as best he can. Wilson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Wilson wants to take El's back but he can't do it this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Slade Wilson dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Wilson slips under a jab from El. Wilson moves out of range as El strikes. Wilson takes the fight into the clinch. Wilson manages to break the clinch.
El cracks Wilson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. El throws a body punch but Wilson moves out of range. Wilson throws a body punch but El moves out of range. El connects with a nice looking jab.
El looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Wilson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wilson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wilson showed some decent athleticism there. Wilson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Wilson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. El has given up his back. Will we see Wilson going for some submissions?
Wilson wants to control but El is keeping busy. El is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Wilson gets his way!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Wilson's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
I really don't envy El right now.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Good control from Wilson. Wilson scores with punches and elbows. Wilson scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. El is looking for a way out. El holding both Wilson 's hands and preventing any damage. Wilson punches the canvas rather than the man. El is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
El is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Wilson gets his way!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
El is trying to stand back up. Wilson has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for El! Can he survive? No! He's out! Wilson gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Slade Wilson!
