Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Al Lepine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Fernando Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Al Lepine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luiz Fernando Gonzalez!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gonzalez throws out a powerful jab.
Gonzalez fails with a takedown attempt.

Gonzalez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gonzalez sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Lepine is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The ground and pound from Gonzalez seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Gonzalez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lepine keeps working.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Gonzalez tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Lepine pushes Gonzalez away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gonzalez gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Lepine knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gonzalez on the ground.
The referee asks Gonzalez politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Gonzalez prefers to stall for the moment though.

Lepine is trying to buck Gonzalez off.

Gonzalez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lepine's half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lepine is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gonzalez is landing with some decent strikes but Lepine is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

BOOM! Gonzalez connects with a massive shot to the dome!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gonzalez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gonzalez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lepine looks a forlorn figure.

Luiz Fernando Gonzalez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Lepine's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
