Thanh Tung kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Em Của Ngày Hôm Qua. Nguyen Thanh Tung has the better chin. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hood misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Thanh Tung is looking for a counter combo.

Hood shoots in and gets a takedown into Thanh Tung's guard.

Hood postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Thanh Tung is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hood, into his guard.

Thanh Tung stays in close to Hood's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hood throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Hood wants to control the position but Thanh Tung says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thanh Tung passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hood!

Thanh Tung lands a couple of good shots and Hood has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Hood wants to escape the position.
Hood is trying to get back to his feet but Thanh Tung has full control of the position and if anything, Hood has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Hood rolls, trying to escape but Thanh Tung keeps control of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thanh Tung lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Thanh Tung.
Thanh Tung is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Thanh Tung seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Thanh Tung is working for a rear naked choke. Hood is not defending it well and Thanh Tung has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Hood refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Hood's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
