Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jeramiah Pony! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hyder Zitti! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, David Hoff and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zitti scores with a jab. Pony has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Zitti finds it's way round the side to connect with Pony's head. Zitti is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Good shot there by Pony. Pony takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Pony shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Zitti wants to stand back up but Pony manages to pass into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pony wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Zitti, who protects the arm well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zitti tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pony wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

We've been hearing good reports from Pony's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Pony trying to control the action but Zitti is working from the bottom. Pony working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Zitti really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pony. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pony lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Zitti down.
A lull in the action here as Pony stalls from top position. Pony has hold of Zitti's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Zitti seems comfortable defending it but Pony has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Zitti is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Zitti is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Pony couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jeramiah Pony! Jeramiah Pony tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
