This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 14 losses; Filmore Everett! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 20 losses; Domingo The Flamingo! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. The Flamingo has closed the distance and engaged Everett in a clinch.
The Flamingo pulls Everett into guard.
The Flamingo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The Flamingo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The Flamingo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Everett trying to control the position from guard on top but The Flamingo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The Flamingo looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Everett passes into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Everett content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Everett is taking a breather. The Flamingo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The Flamingo keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Everett is looking to take a break and control but The Flamingo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The Flamingo moves into full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Everett wants to control from the top but The Flamingo keeps moving. Everett avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The Flamingo wants to control the position but Everett says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

The Flamingo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Everett's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Everett's back! Everett wants to control from the top but The Flamingo keeps moving. The Flamingo throws his legs up looking for a submission but Everett uses it to pass to side control.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Everett tries for a kimura but The Flamingo is defending well. The Flamingo is looking for a sweep. Everett moves into full mount! The Flamingo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Everett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Everett has control of The Flamingo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and The Flamingo regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Everett content just to control the position here. The Flamingo sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Everett wants to take a breather but The Flamingo is having none of it.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Everett is stalling here. The Flamingo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Everett seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and The Flamingo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. That's eight minutes gone in the round. The Flamingo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Everett is looking to escape. The Flamingo wants to finish this one by submission but Everett is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from The Flamingo. Everett tries to hold on but The Flamingo postures up. The Flamingo looking to control but Everett is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

But Everett has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Everett! Let's see if The Flamingo can do anything to dispel that myth. Everett wants to control from the top but The Flamingo keeps moving. The Flamingo is looking for a guillotine. Everett drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and The Flamingo dives on top into guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Everett (9) vs (12) The Flamingo Everett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. The Flamingo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Everett looking for a guillotine here but The Flamingo defends easily.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. The Flamingo trying to control the position from guard on top but Everett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The Flamingo stopping the sweep attempt from Everett. Everett is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. The Flamingo is aware though and is defending well. The Flamingo trying to control but Everett is working from the bottom. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. The Flamingo looking to pass the guard. The Flamingo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Everett looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Everett looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Everett prefers to stall for the moment though.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Everett tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Everett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Everett wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Flamingo keeps working. Everett tries to advance to mount but can't. The Flamingo is trying to control Everett's posture but Everett avoids it. The Flamingo is trying to get back to half guard.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Everett working away. Everett is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. The Flamingo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The Flamingo is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Everett is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Score +2 for reaching mount: Everett (15) vs (12) The Flamingo Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Everett looking to control but The Flamingo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The Flamingo holds of for dear life.
