The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jeffries looks to throw the jab but Odogwu is out of range.
Jeffries throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Jeffries dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Odogwu throws a jab when Jeffries was well out of range.
Jeffries fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jeffries throws a sloppy head kick and Odogwu moves out of range easily.

Jeffries drops down looking for a counter takedown but Odogwu sprawls and moves away.

Odogwu's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jeffries connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Odogwu scrambles back to his feet.
Jeffries uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Odogwu.
Odogwu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Jeffries lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Jeffries throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Odogwu is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Odogwu let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Jeffries goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Odogwu swings for the body but Jeffries moves out of range.
As Odogwu tries to get set, Jeffries tries to push him back and clinch up but Odogwu manages to avoid the attempt.
Odogwu takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jeffries moves out of range of the strikes.
Jeffries attempts a counter takedown but Odogwu avoids it well and moves away.
Odogwu tests Jeffries's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jeffries is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Odogwu blocks a head kick by Jeffries.
Odogwu lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Deon Jeffries seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Odogwu tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Jeffries has closed the distance and engaged Odogwu in a clinch.

Odogwu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Odogwu shoots in and drives through. Jeffries sprawls well.
Deon Jeffries has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ekon Odogwu.

Jeffries throws a leg kick which misses Odogwu's front leg but catches the back leg as Odogwu tries to avoid it.

Jeffries scores with a head kick. Odogwu tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jeffries looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Deon Jeffries dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Odogwu takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jeffries throws a head kick but Odogwu moves out of range.

Jeffries turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jeffries manages to end up in side control.
Jeffries is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Odogwu can do to turn this around?
Odogwu manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jeffries's best efforts.
Jeffries knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Odogwu on the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Odogwu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jeffries on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jeffries tries to get out of the position.

Odogwu has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jeffries's face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Odogwu looking to control but Jeffries is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Odogwu throwing strikes here but Jeffries is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Odogwu working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Jeffries turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Odogwu off and cradles Jeffries's limp body as Odogwu celebrates with his corner.
