PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cohen Blevins (ranked 4966 p4p, 4980 weight class) and Kylan Finley (ranked 225 p4p, 227 weight class). Kylan Finley told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Cohen Blevins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kylan Finley!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blevins tries to clinch there but Finley circles away.
Blevins fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Finley closes the distance and clinches.
Finley tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Blevins just stands there and leans against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Finley's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Finley tries to bum rush Blevins with a series of wild strikes but Blevins uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

It seemed like Finley was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Finley dives in and grabs Blevins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Blevins pushes down on Finley's head and hops out.
Blevins tries to counter by clinching up but Finley breaks away and moves out of range.
Finley has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

Finley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Blevins swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Blevins shoots in looking for a takedown. Finley tries to sprawl out of it but Blevins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Finley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Blevins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Finley tries to avoid it but Blevins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Finley to the ground. Finley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

As Finley tries to get set, Blevins tries to push him back and clinch up but Finley manages to avoid the attempt.
Finley leaves Blevins with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Finley closes the distance and clinches up with Blevins, looking for a takedown. Finley pushes Blevins against the cage but Blevins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Blevins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Finley's waist but Finley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Blevins off to one side.
Finley scores with a crisp jab that stopped Blevins in his tracks.

Finley rushes Blevins and presses him up against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Finley is trying to stall.
Blevins tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Finley smiles and moves away.
