Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mer Lo (ranked 912 p4p, 2122 weight class) and Steven Christie (ranked 86 p4p, 179 weight class). Christie has chosen Amityville as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Steven Christie acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Mer Lo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 22 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steven Christie!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Christie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A quick step to the side and Lo tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Christie looks to land a left hand but Lo moved out of range nicely.
Christie throws a looping overhand right but Lo ducks down to avoid it.
Lo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Christie tries to clinch there but Lo circles away.
Christie swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Christie's coach down at Wolfpack Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Christie's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Lo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Christie's guard.

Lo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Christie doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lo.
Christie is trying to maintain the position but Lo is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Christie wants to sweep but Lo has passed to side control!

Lo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The fighters circle momentarily. Lo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lo has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Lo scores with a one two! Christie had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Christie is still on wobbly legs! Can Lo finish him?
Lo lunges at Christie with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Christie's hand.
Lo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Christie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It looked like Lo was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Christie.
Lo cracks Christie on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Christie falls backwards against the cage. Lo follows up with more strikes that drop Christie to his knees. Lo keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Christie! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mer Lo!
Mer Lo seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
The defeated Steven Christie had this to say: 'Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm making a voodoo doll, thinking of you.'.
