Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luuk Benjamin (ranked 7 p4p, 70 weight class) and Sean O Malley (ranked 2 p4p, 8 weight class). O Malley has chosen Goat Talk- Sugar Sean as his entrance music. Sean O Malley has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Luuk Benjamin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luuk Benjamin! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 30 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean O Malley! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Malley fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Benjamin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A lazy body kick from O Malley and Benjamin counters with a nice uppercut. O Malley throws a predictable looking body shot
and Benjamin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Benjamin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
O Malley scores with a nice strike. We've been told by Benjamin's head coaches at Bushido Martial Arts that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Benjamin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
O Malley throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Benjamin counters with a lovely straight right hand! O Malley throws an overhand right that lands on Benjamin's shoulder, as Benjamin tries to avoid the shot. A looping hook to the body misses from O Malley. Benjamin does a little dance to reset his feet. A little feinted left hand from Benjamin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. The fighters circle momentarily. O Malley darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jab, jab by O Malley - just one landing. O Malley with a body punch. A glancing blow. O Malley dips down and scores with a jab to the body. O Malley lands a nice shot that snaps Benjamin's head back.
Nice uppercut lands for Benjamin. That snapped O Malley's head back.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Malley throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Benjamin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Decent striking displayed by O Malley there. O Malley keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
O Malley misses with a right hand and Benjamin counters with a nice uppercut. Benjamin blocks a jab. O Malley lands with a cross. Benjamin throws a jab but it's blocked by O Malley. Sean O Malley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. O Malley fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. O Malley throws a sloppy head kick and Benjamin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. O Malley throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Benjamin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. O Malley throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! O Malley scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Benjamin on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Benjamin is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. O Malley drops Benjamin with a straight right hand, right on the button! O Malley follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sean O Malley! Sean O Malley is the new featherweight champion! During a confident post fight interview, Sean O Malley thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
