Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spenser Swagger (ranked 2315 p4p, 2934 weight class) and Jon Miocic (ranked 264 p4p, 336 weight class). The key to victory for Spenser Swagger has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Spenser Swagger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Miocic!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miocic throws a body punch but Swagger moves out of range.
Miocic walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Swagger connects with a high kick.

It looks like Jon Miocic has been cut.
Swagger throws a shot to the body.
Miocic lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Miocic catches Swagger with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Miocic takes one to the side of the head.

Miocic manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Swagger on his heels. He'll look to pass Swagger's guard now, I'm sure.

Swagger manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Some wild striking there from Swagger.
Nice sprawl there from Swagger as Miocic shoots in.
Swagger throws a big counter combination but Miocic scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Swagger has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Swagger breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Miocic takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Swagger delivers a nice body kick.
Miocic is looking to clinch.
Swagger definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Miocic takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Swagger slips under a jab.
Miocic throws a sloppy body shot
and Swagger cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Miocic closes the distance and clinches.
Miocic drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Swagger working hard to break the clinch.
Swagger gets underhooks to prevent Miocic's takedown attempt.
Spenser Swagger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Miocic.

A punch combination from Swagger misses.

Swagger throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Swagger, as that shot connected.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Miocic misses the shot to the body.
Miocic has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Miocic takes a jab right on the kisser.

Swagger drops Miocic with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Miocic looks back up at him and smiles so Swagger waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Miocic is rocked!
Swagger throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Swagger moves out of range of the body kick from Miocic.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Swagger - that will leave a mark!
Swagger on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Miocic just misses with a punch to the body.
A little feinted left hand from Swagger on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Miocic.
Swagger throws a right and a left that Miocic avoids nicely.
Miocic takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Swagger throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Miocic counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Miocic is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Swagger rather than just go for the knockout.
Swagger comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Swagger scores with a push kick.
Swagger is looking to land body kicks.
Miocic tries to counter with a clinch but Swagger shakes him off and moves away.
Swagger fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Miocic is still on wobbly legs! Can Swagger finish him?
Miocic moves out of range as Swagger strikes.
Miocic seems to have recovered his senses.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Miocic.

Swagger bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Swagger cracks Miocic with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Miocic looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Swagger finish him?
Miocic misses with a shot to the body
and Swagger counters with an outside leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Swagger throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Swagger displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Miocic throws out the jab.
No luck for Miocic with that takedown attempt.
Miocic shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Swagger as he avoids it easily.
Swagger thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Miocic if he has to take too many more of those.

and Swagger counters with a right hand to the body.
Swagger scores with a body shot.
Miocic waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Swagger.
Swagger is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Swagger tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Swagger lands a lovely overhand right.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Swagger has cracked Miocic with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Swagger lands another huge swinging hook and Miocic tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Miocic, before Swagger can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Spenser Swagger!
Spenser Swagger spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
