This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 56 wins and 37 losses; Vasiliy Kulik! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 34 wins and 43 losses; Gaston Juncker! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Juncker misses with a takedown attempt - Kulik sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Juncker has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Juncker fails to land the takedown. Kulik closes the distance and pushes Juncker back into the cage. Kulik gets underhooks to prevent Juncker's takedown attempt.
Vasiliy Kulik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gaston Juncker. Juncker jumps guard.

Juncker desperately trying to maintain half guard. Kulik wants to pass to mount but Juncker is defending the position.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Kulik's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Further stalling from Kulik. Kulik seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Juncker for as long as he can get away with.

Well, if Kulik is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Juncker tries to roll over but Kulik keeps him under control. Juncker makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Juncker. Kulik is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Kulik is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Kulik is stinking the place up with his stalling. Juncker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kulik sitting in guard, not really doing much.

That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Kulik works a leg free and moves into half guard. Kulik looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Kulik has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Juncker is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
