Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Knock Out (ranked 5425 p4p, 4941 weight class) and Braden Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Knock Out!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Braden Meyers!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Out has Meyers up against the cage in a clinch.

Meyers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Meyers moves into the clinch.
Out is trying to stall.
Out tries to pull guard but Meyers won't allow it.
Meyers tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Out just stands there and leans against the cage.

Meyers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Out tries to sprawl but Meyers drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Out gets full guard.
Meyers wants to control from the top but Out keeps moving.
Meyers stopping the sweep attempt from Out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Out not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Meyers throwing strikes from guard but Out blocks nicely.
Meyers sitting in guard here, content to control.
Out is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Out darts in and clinches Meyers up against the cage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Meyers has Out pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Out manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Meyers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Meyers is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Out gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Knock Out has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Braden Meyers.

Meyers manages to break the clinch.

Out darts in and clinches Meyers up against the cage.

Meyers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Meyers is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Out can't fight it off and eventually Meyers manages to take the fight to the floor. Out looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Out tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Out controls Meyers momentarily but Meyers frees himself.
Out managing to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Meyers not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Meyers shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Out manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Meyers stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Meyers throws a head kick that misses.
Out feinted with a counter takedown.
Meyers lands a slapping body shot.
Meyers shoots in and drives through. Out sprawls well.
A counter left hand to the body from Out misses its target.
Out wants to clinch up but Meyers keeps it at a distance.
Braden Meyers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Out tries to close the distance and clinch but Meyers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Meyers dives in for a single leg takedown but Out sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Meyers has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Meyers leaves Out with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

As Meyers backs away, Out returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Meyers avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Out has Meyers up against the cage in a clinch.

Out trying to control the position from guard on top but Meyers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Out is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Out is really struggling to control Meyers but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Out drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Meyers dives on top into guard.

Meyers is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Meyers decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Out, up you get!

Meyers has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Out after a bit of a struggle.

Out breaks the clinch.

Meyers moves into the clinch successfully.
Out has had enough of the clinch but Meyers keeps him there for the moment.
Meyers fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Meyers tries to pull guard but Out won't allow it.
Meyers is working for takedown but Out is calmly controlling the position for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Braden Meyers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Meyers fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Out, pushing him back against the cage.

Out trying to control but Meyers is working from the bottom.

Meyers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Out doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Out manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Out wants to control from the top but Meyers keeps moving.
Out has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Meyers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Out is one step ahead there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Meyers has his hands on Out's head, controlling the position.
Meyers trying to keep a closed guard but Out is proving a slippery customer.

Meyers has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Out is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Meyers.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Meyers shoots in but Out avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Out tries to clinch but Meyers moves out of range.
Meyers fails with a takedown attempt.
Out tried to counter with a leg kick but Meyers avoided it.
Knock Out has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Braden Meyers.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Knock Out has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Meyers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
