Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tiki Fahalo (ranked 2256 p4p, 2537 weight class) and Glenn Banks (ranked 274 p4p, 307 weight class). The key to victory for Tiki Fahalo has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tiki Fahalo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Glenn Banks!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banks with a poor takedown
and Banks takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Banks shoots in but no luck this time.
Fahalo attempts a counter takedown but Banks avoids it well and moves away.

Banks looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fahalo regains full guard. Nicely done.
Fahalo with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Banks can't handle though.
Banks cracks Fahalo with a solid left hand.
Fahalo has momentary wrist control but Banks slips an elbow through the middle.
Banks content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Fahalo has his foot on Banks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Banks works his way back into a safe position though.

Fahalo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Banks can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Fahalo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Banks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Banks chips away with some ground and pound.
Banks with a flurry of punches that miss.
Banks connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fahalo keeping moving, preventing Banks from controlling successfully.

Banks avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fahalo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Banks is one step ahead there.
Fahalo is working hard here to advance position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

My spies in Freaky Fight Club inform me that Banks has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Fahalo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Banks working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fahalo's head.
Fahalo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Banks manages to get himself to full guard.

Fahalo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Banks has escaped the position, nice work there.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Banks can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Banks has his takedown stuffed
and Fahalo counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Banks closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Fahalo did well to prevent Banks getting side control.

Banks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Fahalo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Banks defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fahalo looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Banks has picked Fahalo up and slammed him! Fahalo can't keep hold of the triangle and Banks manages to pass to side control!
Check out the look on Banks's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Banks lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Fahalo down.

Banks scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Fahalo is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Banks can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
