Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dezmond Drake (ranked 91 p4p, 170 weight class) and John Fisher (ranked 9 p4p, 13 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dezmond Drake! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 20 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, John Fisher! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drake dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Fisher changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. A jab from Drake misses. It seemed like Fisher was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Drake has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Fisher lands a big uppercut and Drake crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Drake looks OK. Fisher waves Drake back to his feet!
It looks like Dezmond Drake has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fisher throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Drake sees it coming and avoids it easily. Drake slips a straight right by Fisher. Drake pushes Fisher up against the cage in a clinch. Fisher working some nice short punches in the clinch. Fisher misses with a short punch on the inside. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fisher. Drake pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Drake throws a big shot that misses. Fisher throws a poor cross that misses
and Drake counters with a stiff right hand. Drake takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Drake misses with a left hand and Fisher counters with a big right hand! Oh Drake is in trouble here! Fisher follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Fisher! John Fisher is the new featherweight champion! A relieved looking John Fisher thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
