Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lonnie Bryan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kendrick Douglas! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Douglas scores with a sloppy right hand. Bryan should have avoided that one. Bryan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Douglas to the ground. Bryan is now in Douglas's guard. Douglas is looking to stand back up but Bryan counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Douglas. Bryan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Bryan prevents Douglas from standing back up.
Bryan is figuring out what he wants to do next. Bryan passes to full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bryan looking to finish Douglas with some ground and pound. This is bad for Douglas! Douglas is bucking up trying to escape but Bryan cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Bryan landing shots from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bryan trying to control but he's not successful this time. Bryan controlling from the full mount. Douglas is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Douglas can do anything to dispel that myth.
