Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Beckwitz Jugges (ranked 3061 p4p, 3315 weight class) and Izu Ugonoh (ranked 361 p4p, 390 weight class). Izu Ugonoh has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Beckwitz Jugges's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Beckwitz Jugges!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Izu Ugonoh!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ugonoh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jugges paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jugges throwing a counter right hand but Ugonoh manages to avoid it.

It looks like Izu Ugonoh has been cut.

Jugges definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ugonoh is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jugges can't fight it off and eventually Ugonoh manages to take the fight to the floor. Jugges looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Ugonoh working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
It looks like Ugonoh might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Ugonoh wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Ugonoh moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Ugonoh tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jugges manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Jugges takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
It looks like Beckwitz Jugges has been cut.
Ugonoh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jugges paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ugonoh shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ugonoh showed some decent athleticism there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ugonoh thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jugges's head.

Ugonoh turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ugonoh manages to end up in side control.

The referee asks Ugonoh politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ugonoh prefers to stall for the moment though.
Jugges takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ugonoh has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
