Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Edgar Garcia Jr (ranked 1354 p4p, 2774 weight class) and Liam Dylan (ranked 102 p4p, 188 weight class). Garcia Jr comes into the arena with Mike Jones - “Still Tippin” blaring out of the sound system. Edgar Garcia Jr has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edgar Garcia Jr! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Liam Dylan! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia Jr lands a jab to Dylan's midsection. Garcia Jr throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dylan forces Garcia Jr back against the cage and clinches. Dylan is trying to break the clinch but Garcia Jr has him pressed against the cage. Garcia Jr misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Dylan throws a head punch that misses. Garcia Jr is trying to break the clinch but Dylan is controlling him. Dylan is looking to break free of the clinch but Garcia Jr has double underhooks. Garcia Jr lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dylan backwards. Garcia Jr tries to work over Dylan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Dylan manages to break the clinch.
Dylan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Garcia Jr lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Garcia Jr scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Dylan tries to bum rush Garcia Jr with a series of wild strikes but Garcia Jr uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Garcia Jr circles away from the clinch attempt and Garcia Jr counters with a straight right hand. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dylan rushes Garcia Jr and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Garcia Jr prevents Dylan from breaking the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia Jr tries to throw a body punch but Dylan avoids it by throwing Garcia Jr back against the cage. Garcia Jr holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Garcia Jr stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Dylan is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Dylan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Garcia Jr is defending well for now. Garcia Jr on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
I was talking to Garcia Jr's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Garcia Jr pushes Dylan back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Dylan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Garcia Jr lands with a short shot to the head. Dylan told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Dylan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Garcia Jr lands a jab to Dylan's midsection. Dylan tries a head kick but it misses.
Danga de danga de dang - Garcia Jr scores with a four punch combination! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Garcia Jr circles away from the clinch attempt and Garcia Jr counters with a stiff right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dylan lands with a thumping leg kick.
Garcia Jr punishes Dylan's body with a nice straight punch. Dylan throws a left and a right that both miss
and Garcia Jr counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Dylan looks winded! Garcia Jr works Dylan's body with a nice hook. A right-left combo lands from Garcia Jr. Garcia Jr scores with a hook to the body. Dylan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Garcia Jr uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dylan has time to react. Dylan wants to clinch and Garcia Jr counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dylan thinking. Garcia Jr scores with a punch to the head. Dylan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Garcia Jr is looking to wear down Dylan with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Nice body punch from Garcia Jr. Garcia Jr scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Dylan on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia Jr throws a series of strikes that have Dylan backpedaling.
Dylan is still on wobbly legs! Can Garcia Jr finish him? Garcia Jr jabs Dylan to the body, keeping him at a distance. Liam Dylan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Garcia Jr scores with a jab to the body. Dylan is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Garcia Jr just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Dylan has gone limp and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Edgar Garcia Jr! Edgar Garcia Jr retains his bantamweight title! After winning the bout, Edgar Garcia Jr thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
