Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Nass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Camuti!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nass fails with a takedown attempt.
Camuti stuffs the takedown attempt from Nass. Nass gets slowly back to his feet.
Nass tries to clinch but Camuti moves out of range.
Nass shoots in and drives through. Camuti sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Nass. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Camuti throws a body punch but Nass moves out of range.
Nass slips a jab and a cross from Camuti.
Nass shoots in for a takedown but Camuti shows good takedown defense.
Camuti stuffs the takedown attempt from Nass. Nass gets slowly back to his feet.
Camuti misses with a double jab.
Nass fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Camuti works Nass's body with a nice hook.
Nass is breathing heavily.
Nass tries a head kick but it misses.
Nass dodges the punch combination from Camuti.
Nass shoots in and drives through. Camuti sprawls well.
Camuti throws a series of punches but Nass moves out of range.
Camuti misses with a two punch combination.
Camuti drops Nass with a nice combination! Camuti dives into Nass's guard, looking to finish!


Nass is rocked!


It looks like Jake Nass has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Camuti wants to stand but Nass has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Oh Nass is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Camuti must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Camuti controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Camuti looking to pass the guard.
Nass seems to have got his legs back now.
Nass can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Camuti controls the pace.
Nass will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Camuti wants to pass the guard but Nass is keeping the position.
Camuti throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nass works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Nass is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Camuti content to stall in guard here.
Nass has a closed guard, preventing Camuti from standing up.
Nass can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Camuti controls the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Camuti postures up in Nass's guard and throws a big left but Nass blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Camuti tries to stand but Nass is controlling from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Horrible takedown by Nass or perhaps it was just good defense by Camuti which made him look bad.
No joy there for Camuti, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice sprawl there from Camuti as Nass shoots in.
Nass fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nass shoots in for a takedown but Camuti shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Camuti cracks a nice hook into Nass's ribs.
Nass dodges the punch combination from Camuti.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Nass. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Camuti fails to land with a series of punches.
Nass takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Jab, jab by Camuti - just one landing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice combo by Camuti! Oh, that's hurt him - Nass falls to the canvas and Camuti follows him into side control.
Camuti working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Camuti tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Camuti has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Camuti tries to stand but Nass is controlling his head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nass is looking for a sweep.
Camuti remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Nass is trying to improve his position.
Camuti is looking to take a break and control but Nass is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Camuti lands with a hook. Nass tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Camuti punishes Nass's body with a nice straight punch.
Camuti rushes Nass with punches - Nass moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Nass goes down! Camuti follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Camuti!
