Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Snake (ranked 2299 p4p, 2695 weight class) and Ronnie Benson (ranked 261 p4p, 297 weight class). Ronnie Benson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Snake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ronnie Benson! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Snake closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Benson to the mat! Benson manages to get full guard. Snake advances to half guard. Snake is working for a kimura but Benson is defending it quite comfortably.
Snake is working for a submission of some sort.
Snake is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Benson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Snake. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Snake wants to work for an arm triangle but Benson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Benson missing with punches from the bottom.
Snake tries to pass the half guard into mount. Benson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Snake with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Snake looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Benson is in trouble now - Snake has advanced to mount! Snake takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Snake has control of Benson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Benson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Snake controlling the position easily from mount. Snake looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Snake moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Benson has worked his arm free - good work by Benson!
Snake looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Snake advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Benson gets back to half guard. Benson looking for submissions off his back. Benson is staying active underneath Snake, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Snake is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Benson reverses the position - he's now on top in Snake's guard. Benson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Snake has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Benson has managed to get both his arms back between Snake's legs - danger averted. Snake is looking to cinch up a triangle. Benson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Snake's body to avoid the submission. Snake has instead reached around Benson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Snake arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). David Snake!
